My sweet little 15 month old baby girl, Charlee picked up some kind of infection from her cousin when we were staying with them last week. He went to the dr and was told he has an eye, sinus and ear infection. High fevers, goopy eyes and nose and has been on an antibiotic for a couple of weeks. Now it has turned into pneumonia and he is on another antibiotic. :( Charlee instantly picked up the goopy eyes and nose and high fever. Before taking her in to the dr, I am giving my essential oils a try. It's been several days and she is still sick but the goopiness is almost gone and her fevers are way down. I think the oils are helping tremendously! But we are not out of the water yet.
I buy all my essential oils from DoTerra.com. The ones I am using specifically for Charlee are: Oregano on the bottoms of her feet 2-3 times a day to fight infection, On Guard 2 times a day (ALWAYS when she is sleeping to prevent her from rubbing it in her eyes because it burns!) I apply On Guard around her eyes, nose and ears very careful not to get it IN any of those areas. I think this has helped so much in getting rid of the goopiness. I am using peppermint oil on her back and forehead for fevers and Breath (probably my FAVORITE and most used oil) on her chest for her cough and breathing. One day she was tugging at her ear so I put some oregano on a cotton ball and put it in her ear after falling asleep. I have no idea if she had an ear infection but she was not tugging on it the next day. I use the peppermint and breath as needed.
I'll keep you updated on how she is doing!
Well she seemed to get better but then the other day, she broke out in a high fever AGAIN! I started go get really worried so I took her to the dr. He told me good job on the oils because they seemed to get rid of the eye/nose infection :D But she came down with an ear infection now. I thought about trying to get rid of it with oregano/garlic cloves but I went with the antibiotic. Poor girl! I always get discouraged when we have to take a trip to the dr but I am very grateful to be living in a day when we can easily get the things we need.
